June 2005 - I am absolutely overwhelmed by the number of people who have told me recently that they have never had smoked bologna (baloney as we call it it northeastern Oklahoma). Folks, folks, folks! If you have never wrapped your hungry, quivering lips around a piece of wood smoked bologna then you have yet to live... Read more here..

May 2005
- My wife purchased a frozen salmon filet the other day and wanted to know if I would smoke it... well to be honest I consider myself a lean, mean smoking machine but salmon has never been my forte... I have read a lot of articles and seen and tasted a lot of good smoked salmon but never really got into it myself. Willing to be the good husband and unwilling to admit that I could not do it I made up my mind to smoke the salmon or bust!.. Read more here..

April 2005 - I don't know about your neighborhood but in mine the smells on weekends are enough to drive you wild! Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill... steaks being seared.. and from my house its pecan, hickory, or mesquite smoked meat which can range from ribs to pork shoulder to a fat juicy brisket! I love summer and more importantly I love the weekends.. Read more here..

March 2005 - February has now come and gone and it seems that winter in Oklahoma is one big joke. With average temps being way above normal and springtime in the air. I don't know about you guys but even though I smoke meat all winter regardless of the prevailing cold, I am always happy to see the temperatures climb to a respectable barbecuing level.. January 2005 - Here in Oklahoma the weather has been quite mild considering we normally have had several snows by now. So far no snow and with the average temperature across this last few months being above 50 degrees it has been excellent barbecue weather. I never let the weather deter me from smoking meat but If I could choose I would definitely rather it was 50 degrees or better as opposed to below freezing.. Read more here..

December 2004 - Christmas time is coming.... Christmas time is coming.... la la la la la.. yes I am humming as I think about the holidays and all the joy it brings to most people especially the younger ones. It has been major ordeal this year keeping my 2 year old son from ripping the presents to shreds from under the tree... I mean you have to admit - they do look very inviting with all of the shiny red and green paper and bows and multi colored ribbon.. Read more here..

November 2004 - Well, it seems that another Thanksgiving is upon us... my favorite holiday for many reasons. I look forward to all of the great food that seems to present itself around this time of year and the atmosphere just seems to take on a new face.... everyone seems so chipper, especially since the air is a little more crisp for most of us in the U.S. For those of us who smoke (meat that is) it is a time to start thinking about smoking the big bird.. September 2004 - Wow! Labor day is over and summer is quickly winding down. Where does the time fly off to anyway!?? I am so excited about some of the new stuff that has been added to the site recently including the barbecue tips page where all of you barbecuers out there can submit ideas, tips, and hints on creating better barbecue. I know there are some of you that have discovered new ways of doing things and I really want to hear about it. Simply go to the barbecue tips page.. Read more here..
